Part immigrant memoir, part colorful visuals and natural beauty, Anne will share her journey through her childhood and adolescence with stories, poetry, and gorgeous photography of the buildings and natural wonder found in Northern Michigan and the U.P. Local references include the North Bessemer School, M28, and the Blizzard of 1938. Anne is the daughter of local beekeeper and author Amy Van Ooyen and Claude Van Ooyen, who played organ for many local churches.
